Advanced features
Change material
Replace a material in a render zone. Normal mode: text instruction and optional material image. Advanced mode: reference photo, surface, scale and mask (ID pass or polygon) with 3D integration of shadows, reflections and perspective.
What it is for
Try finishes in interior design and architecture without re-rendering in 3D or manual Photoshop retouching.
How to use it
- Place an architectural render on the board and select it (single image only).
- Open the purple AI menu on the floating toolbar and choose «Change material».
- Pick Normal or Advanced at the top of the assistant.
- Normal mode: describe which material to change and where (min. 3 characters). Optional: upload a reference finish photo. Click «Change material».
- Advanced mode: upload a reference material photo (JPG, PNG or WEBP). Pick the surface (floor, facade, walls, ceiling, joinery or skirting) and scale (repeatable module, continuous or automatic).
- In Advanced mode, define the edit zone — recommended: ID pass aligned with the render and floor/object color (multiple colors, tolerance and joint fill). Alternative: draw a polygon over the zone.
- Review AI credit cost and click «Change material». The result is placed on top of the original render.
Tips
- Normal mode is ideal for quick changes; Advanced mode offers precision with masks and ID pass.
- If the AI provider rejects the request via its safety filter (often a false positive), split the edit into smaller steps, rephrase the instruction or use Advanced mode with a mask. Reserved credits are refunded automatically.
- The original render stays on a layer below. Outside the mask (Advanced), original pixels are preserved; inside, AI integrates the new material with contact shadows, reflections and perspective.
- Available on Pro and Studio plans depending on AI credits (render_ai_change_material action).
